Antivirus Distributor UK — Reseller Programme

Become an antivirus reseller with Avosec

Avosec is a UK antivirus distributor supplying resellers, MSPs, VARs, MSSPs, and systems integrators with licences for five leading antivirus brands: Avast Business, AVG Business, Bitdefender, ESET, and ThreatDown by Malwarebytes. Channel-only since 2002. Net-30 terms, partner-tier pricing from day one, and included technical support across every vendor we ship.

If you sell IT services to UK businesses and your customers expect antivirus as part of the stack — whether that’s a five-seat solicitor’s office or a 500-endpoint manufacturer — this page is the route in. You quote and invoice your customer; Avosec handles licence provisioning, vendor escalation, and renewals plumbing in the background. No mandatory certification before you can transact. No minimum spend. No tiered partner gates between you and trade pricing.

This hub covers the commercial terms, the support model, and the per-vendor breakdown so you can decide which antivirus brand fits which customer. For the wider stack — EDR, MDR, DNS filtering, backup — see our cybersecurity reseller partner programme. For the broader endpoint security category specifically, see the endpoint security hub.

Commercial terms: Net-30, partner pricing day one, no certification gate

The commercial model is deliberately simple because antivirus is a volume business and friction kills deal velocity.

Partner-tier pricing from day one. You don’t earn into reseller pricing across the first £10k, £50k, or £100k of sales. Your first quote is at the same per-seat rate as your hundredth. The pricing differential against MSRP is what gives you margin to sell against direct-from-vendor competitors and against the in-vendor “buy now” buttons your customer will find on Google.

Net-30 payment terms. Subject to a standard credit check on application, you trade on 30-day terms from day one. You invoice your customer, you receive payment, then you settle with Avosec — the licence is provisioned before your customer’s PO clears your bank. For a reseller doing £5k-£50k a month in antivirus volume, that working-capital relief is the difference between scaling and stalling.

No mandatory vendor certification before you can quote. Some distributors require sales or technical accreditation across each vendor before they’ll release pricing. Avosec does not. You apply once, you get access to all five antivirus brands, you quote in days not weeks. Vendor certifications exist and are available if you want them for deal-registration uplifts or marketing co-op — they’re not a gate.

Consolidated GBP invoicing. One supplier, one statement, one currency. If you’re selling Bitdefender to one customer and AVG to another in the same month, that’s one Avosec invoice not two vendor invoices in two currencies.

Included technical support across every vendor we ship

Avosec includes technical support in the reseller relationship at no additional cost. The depth of that support varies by vendor and we are deliberately transparent about which is which — because pretending otherwise creates support-ticket disappointments later.

Avast Business and AVG Business — deeper support tier, API-integrated. Avast and AVG are the two antivirus brands where Avosec has direct API integration into the vendor’s licence-provisioning platform via our GenX portal. Our engineers handle a wider band of customer support issues directly — provisioning, licence-key issues, console questions, basic troubleshooting — before any vendor escalation is needed. This is the deepest support tier we offer.

Bitdefender, ESET, ThreatDown, and others — first-line plus vendor escalation. For these vendors Avosec handles first-line technical questions (provisioning, licence management, common console queries) and escalates anything deeper to the vendor’s own technical team on your behalf. You and your end customer don’t open vendor tickets directly — we triage and route. It is not the same depth as Avast/AVG, and we’d rather you knew that before you sold the deal than after.

What’s the same across all five brands: you have a named UK-based account contact, a documented escalation path, and support included in the relationship rather than billed as a separate service line. For full per-vendor specifics, the vendor pages below carry the exact support detail.

The five antivirus vendors we distribute in the UK

Lead with the brand that fits the customer’s existing estate, console preference, and budget. Brief one-liners follow with links to the dedicated vendor reseller page for each.

Avast Business

Category: Business antivirus with cloud console. USP: The volume-friendly choice for SMB and mid-market with strong per-seat economics and the deepest Avosec support tier thanks to direct API integration. Three product tiers (Essential, Premium, Ultimate) and 1/2/3-year subscription flex. Read the Avast Business reseller page.

AVG Business

Category: Business antivirus, sister brand to Avast under the Gen Digital portfolio. USP: Alternative branding and console for customers who prefer AVG over Avast historically. Same Avosec API integration, same deeper support tier, same GenX instant-provisioning. Read the AVG Business reseller page.

Bitdefender

Category: Enterprise-grade endpoint with strong detection-rate test results across AV-Comparatives, AV-Test, and SE Labs. USP: The technically credible choice when your customer has been burned by a previous antivirus missing a threat. Stronger detection efficacy story for security-conscious mid-market and enterprise. Read the Bitdefender reseller page.

ESET

Category: Lightweight endpoint protection with long-standing reputation in the UK channel. USP: Low system-resource footprint matters when your customer is running legacy hardware or thin-margin endpoints. ESET PROTECT is the platform — multiple tiers including Entry, Advanced, Complete, and Elite. Read the ESET reseller page.

ThreatDown by Malwarebytes

Category: Endpoint protection plus EDR options under the rebranded Malwarebytes business product line. USP: The Malwarebytes name is widely trusted as a remediation tool — ThreatDown extends that brand into a full business endpoint platform. Useful when the customer asks for “the Malwarebytes one” by name. Read the ThreatDown reseller page.

Three further vendors in the Avosec catalogue have antivirus or AV-adjacent relevance but sit outside the core five: Kreesalis (security awareness training with email and AV-adjacent elements), Guardpot AI (AI-driven threat detection layered on top of endpoint), and Zillya (Ukrainian antivirus, contracted but currently dormant). These are not the brands to lead with for a UK reseller building an antivirus practice. For the full vendor list across the wider stack, see the cybersecurity reseller partner programme.

GenX portal: API-integrated provisioning for Avast and AVG

The GenX portal is Avosec’s online ordering platform. For two of the five antivirus brands — Avast Business and AVG Business — GenX is directly API-integrated with the vendor’s licence-issuance platform. The practical effect: your order is placed, the licence keys are generated and delivered into your portal account inside seconds, and your customer can deploy the same business day. No emailing the distributor and waiting for a quote-to-provisioning loop.

For the other three antivirus brands in this hub — Bitdefender, ESET, and ThreatDown — provisioning runs through standard order workflows rather than an API integration. Turnaround is fast (typically same business day) but not the instant-API experience that Avast and AVG enjoy. We’re flagging the distinction because it matters when you’re pitching to a customer who needs licences live this afternoon.

If real-time licence delivery is a hard requirement for your customer, lead with Avast or AVG and use GenX as the provisioning channel. If detection-efficacy benchmarks, lightweight footprint, or brand recognition are the decisive factor, lead with Bitdefender, ESET, or ThreatDown and accept a same-day rather than same-second turnaround.

Who buys antivirus through Avosec

The Avosec antivirus reseller programme is built for UK channel businesses, not for direct end-customers. Five buyer profiles are typical:

IT resellers and VARs. Traditional value-added resellers selling hardware, software, and services into UK SMBs and mid-market. Antivirus is a recurring-revenue line that pairs naturally with hardware refresh cycles, Microsoft 365 deployments, and managed services. Net-30 terms and partner-tier pricing make the per-seat economics work.

MSPs (Managed Service Providers). Businesses running ongoing IT management for their customers. Antivirus is part of every MSP stack — the question is which brand fits which client tier. Avosec gives MSPs a single distributor relationship across all five major brands so the MSP doesn’t have to maintain five vendor portals, five invoice streams, and five support escalation paths.

MSSPs (Managed Security Service Providers). Security-led service providers running SOC, MDR, or compliance-driven services for regulated UK customers. Antivirus is the foundation layer beneath the EDR/MDR stack — MSSPs typically lead with Bitdefender or ThreatDown for detection efficacy, with Avast or AVG positioned for cost-sensitive smaller clients.

Systems Integrators. Project-driven businesses delivering one-off or multi-year integrations where antivirus is one component of a wider rollout. The Net-30 terms and absence of certification gates matter — an SI often needs to quote across multiple vendors quickly during a tender response.

Direct SMBs (occasionally). Avosec is channel-first, but a small percentage of customers are end-business buyers who came in directly. The programme is designed for resellers and we’d prefer SMB customers come through a reseller — but the door is not closed.

Apply to join the Avosec reseller programme

One application form covers all five antivirus brands and the wider Avosec vendor catalogue. You don’t apply per vendor. Most applications are reviewed within two UK working days. Credit-check turnaround for Net-30 terms is typically within five business days from a complete application.

Apply via the form on the reseller partner programme page. We’ll come back with pricing access, GenX portal credentials for Avast and AVG, and a named UK account contact for everything else. If you have a specific deal already on the table and need pricing before the full application closes, say so on the form and we’ll prioritise.

UK businesses only at present. EU expansion is not on the roadmap until the UK channel is saturated.
